Terms of Reference

  1. Monitors and evaluates the operation of the six (6) Markets within the framework of the Municipal and District Councils Act, Chapter 28:01.
  2. Receives and considers reports of the Management and Operations of the Food Hygiene Section and the Municipal Abattoir.
  3. Receives reports and analyses the effectiveness of the Mayor and City Council’s Health Education Programme.
  4. Monitors progress reports and evaluates the effectiveness of the activities of the Environmental Health and Rodent and Vector Control Section; make recommendations for their continuous development.
  5. Analyses the incidence of overtime work within the respective Sections with a view to identifying means for its reduction.
  6. Generally visits sites from time to time to verify the maintenance of required standards and the levels of productivity, and the effectiveness of programmes being carried out.
